The Durakool DEVR20-5071-S8-0936-R1 High-Voltage DC Contactor is a robust, highly reliable electrical switching device engineered for electric vehicles (EVs) and high-capacity energy storage systems. Designed to safely "make and break" extremely high DC loads, this hermetically sealed contactor handles up to 1000V DC and a continuous current of 200 Amps. Unlike bi-directional models, this specific variant is polarized and features a wide-range wide-voltage coil economizer for maximum efficiency.

Key Features:

  • Polarized Magnetic Arc Blowout – Engineered with internal magnets specifically optimized to stretch and blow out high-voltage DC arcs in a specific direction. Because of this, it is strictly polarized—hence the "Observe polarity" warning on the label and the +A1/-A2 terminal markings.

  • Gas-Filled Hermetic Seal – The internal switching contacts are sealed in an inert gas environment. This prevents contact oxidation, minimizes electrical resistance, and provides a stable environment to safely extinguish massive electrical arcs.

  • Wide-Range Coil Economizer – The internal PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) coil controller accepts a highly flexible 9V to 36V DC input, making it compatible with both 12V and 24V automotive systems. It automatically draws a higher inrush current to close the massive contacts, then drops to a highly efficient holding power to prevent overheating.

  • Auxiliary Feedback Circuit – The white flying leads (potted at the base) connect to an internal auxiliary switch. This provides crucial physical feedback to the vehicle's Battery Management System (BMS), verifying exactly when the main high-voltage contacts have successfully opened or closed.

  • Physical Arc Barrier – Features a molded plastic divider sitting directly between the two M8 studs to prevent high-voltage flashover across the top of the unit.
