The Durakool DEVR20-5091-S8-D012-R1 High-Voltage DC Contactor is a robust and highly reliable electrical switching device engineered for electric vehicles (EVs) and high-capacity energy storage systems. Designed to safely "make and break" extremely high DC loads, this hermetically sealed contactor is capable of handling up to 1000V DC and a continuous current of 200 Amps. Its bi-directional design and integrated coil economizer make it a highly efficient choice for main battery isolation.

Key Features:
-
Gas-Filled Hermetic Seal – The internal switching contacts are sealed in an inert gas environment. This prevents contact oxidation, minimizes electrical resistance, and provides a stable environment to actively extinguish the massive electrical arcs generated when breaking a 1000V DC circuit.
-
Magnetic Arc Blowout – Engineered with internal magnets specifically designed to rapidly stretch and blow out high-voltage DC arcs, preventing terminal welding and ensuring a long mechanical lifespan.
-
Non-Polarized (Bi-Directional) – Unlike many high-voltage contactors, the main power terminals are non-polarized, meaning the unit can safely break current flowing in either direction (crucial for EVs that utilize regenerative braking).
-
Integrated Coil Economizer – The internal dual-coil design automatically draws a higher inrush current to quickly pull the massive contacts closed, and then drops to a highly efficient 5W holding power, preventing the 12V coil from overheating during continuous operation.
-
Auxiliary Feedback Circuit – The blue flying leads connect to an internal, mechanically linked auxiliary switch. This provides crucial physical feedback to the vehicle's Battery Management System (BMS), verifying exactly when the main high-voltage contacts have successfully opened or closed.
-
Physical Arc Barrier – Features a molded plastic divider sitting directly between the two M8 studs to prevent high-voltage flashover across the top of the unit.
Ideal For:
-
Main battery pack isolation (Main Positive / Main Negative) in Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Plug-in Hybrids (PHEVs)
-
High-performance custom EV conversions
-
Solar array (PV) inverters and high-capacity Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
-
DC Fast Charging stations and EVSE infrastructure
-
